Dirk Kestner is a Principal and Director of Sustainable Design for Walter P Moore. In his role at Walter P Moore, Dirk provides sustainability oversight for the company’s geographically diverse portfolio. He has pursued Whole Building Life Cycle Assessment (WBLCA) credits within multiple building rating systems including both LEED Pilot Credits, LEED v4, and used WBLCA to inform structural systems as part of a recent Living Building Pursuit.
Dirk was the founding Chairman of the Sustainability Committee for The Structural Engineering Institute, and was editor of the committee’s book Sustainability Guidelines for the Structural Engineer. He is currently a member of the USGBC Materials & Resources TAG.
